MORIGAON: The counting for the Tiwa Autonomous Council election is currently underway and it has been speculated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won from almost all the seats.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 34 seats till now.

The counting of the ballots for the TIWA Autonomous Council (TAC) elections has started from 8am onwards. A total of 3,08,409 votes have voted across 410 polling stations on December 17.

The polling took place in 36 Tiwa dominated constituencies comprising parts of Morigaon, Nagoan, Hojai and Kamrup (M) districts.

BJP contested in 35 council seats while its ally party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has contested in one seat and Congress  in all 36 seats.
