Dewri an alumnus of the first batch of Regional Government Film and Television Institute had introduced himself as belonging to the Tiwa community. The faculty had then advised him to make a Tiwa film after completing his diploma in a film as a film on Tiwa community has never been produced.
As Dewri belongs to the Northeastern region of India, where people are attracted by their cultural diversity and the beautiful greenery nature, he got inspired by his faculties since 2011 to make a Tiwa film and started to do a field study from 2012.
In 2013 he started working on the script in Tiwa language based on true incidents. In the year of 2014, a small unit of ‘The Wild Lalungs’ started for the recce. On 12Th October 2016, the first schedule of production began at ‘Balikhunji’ village in West Karbi-Anglong.
Though the team has its production script, the schedule of the film lost its tempo as the weather played a spoilsport and also team had chosen the local cast. The production team faces great difficulty due to bad weather conditions. In such a wet and hilly place, the team took the challenge to work and managed the continuity too.
