GUWAHATI: Olympic medalist and Assam's pride Lovlina Borgohain reached Guwahati on Thursday morning.
The ace pugilist was received by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Guwahati airport.
Sarma welcomed Lovlina with a traditional Assamese 'Gamusa' and 'Jaapi'.
Sharing pictures with the champion, the Chief Minister tweeted "With pride & glory, I welcomed our star Olympian medalist ">@LovlinaBorgohai at Guwahati airport."
"Lovlina has ignited a billion dreams with her success in

Earlier on Wednesday, Lovlina, enjoyed home-style Assamese food after more than a year along with Union Minister and former Assam Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
“Having home-style Assamese food after more than a year. I thank Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @sarbanandsonwal sir for welcoming me with such warmth and sharing a scrumptious meal,” she tweeted.
The state government has organized a grand felicitation programme for Lovlina at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra at 3PM.
The Program will be attended by several dignitaries along with the Chief Minister and state sports Minister Bimal Bora.
