Guwahati, October 26, 2018:

Two Assam Civil Service (ACS) and Assam Police Service (APS) officers have agreed to become public witnesses in the infamous cash-for-job scam.

The two ACS and APS officers, Sanjan Phukan and Debabrat De have agreed to give statements against the suspended chairman of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Rakesh Paul.

Sanjan Phukan is a election officer of Gohpur whereas Debabrat De was appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police of Tinsukia District Special Branch. Both Phukan and De belong to the 2013 batch of the APSC.

Interestingly, the duo were not arrested even after their names emerged in the scam.
