Two arrested in IPL betting in Assam's Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH:  As many as two persons from Dibrugarh district of Assam have been arrested for allegedly betting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season matches.

The arrested persons have been identified as --Shakti Singh (27) from Graham Bazar, and Sahid Khan (39) from Amolapatty both are from Dibrugarh

They were found to be involved in online betting during IPL matches.

Dibrugarh police brought them to the police station and filed a case against them with case no (1935/2021 u/s 14/15,) under Assam Game and Betting Act.

As per Shwetank Mishra, SP, Dibrugarh, police have also received some more names involved in such betting during the interrogation.

Police will take action against all those involved as well, he added.
