In a special drive carried out Thursday, two minor children were rescued from bonded labour in Assam's Hailakandi district.
The child labourers, who were rescued by the District Level Task Force Committee comprising Labour Department, DCPO, CWC, Child Line and police personnel, were engaged as domestic help.
The police have registered cases against the offenders for engaging minor children as domestic help.
It may be mentioned that 8 minor children were rescued from bonded labour in June this year.

It is to be mentioned that three child labourers have been rescued from Algapur and Panchgram markets of Hailakandi district on June 28 by a team of District Task Force.
The team comprised of Child Welfare Committee, Child Line, Labour department and police personnel headed by District Child Protection Officer, Jitul Bora.
They made surprise raids in different establishments in Algapur and rescued the three child labourers.
Out of the three rescued from Algapur and Panchgram markets, two were engaged in a garage while the other was working in a sweet shop.
The rescued victims are currently being housed at a shelter home in Silchar. They will be handed over to their respective families soon.
Bora informed that stringent action would be initiated against the perpetrators for employing minor as labourers as per the provisions of law.
A few days ago, five child labourers were rescued from some establishments by a rescue team.
