Two PDCK militants nabbed in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, June 1, 2019:

The troops of Red Horns Division deployed in East Karbi Anglong apprehended two armed Peoples Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) cadres from Bokalia on Friday.

Based on specific intelligence input received from Army sources, an operation was jointly launched by a team of police and Army.

Prompt action resulted in the recovery of one .22 Pistol, one .22 Mag, six .22 rounds of live cartridges, three mobile phones, six SIM cards, three memory cards, Rs.5855 cash, one backpack, and one uniform set.

Interrogation revealed that the PDCK cadres are close associates of David Mukrang and have been involved in extortion and providing logistical assistance to self-styled C-in-C of PDCK David Mukrang. The self- styled C-in-C is actively engaged in extortion of money and recruit youths for the PDCK.

The operation will definitely impede the activities of the militant group in the East Karbi Anglong District of Assam.

It is to be mentioned that The People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) is an armed rebel outfit which seeks to obtain sovereignty of the Karbis.
