Two ULFA- I Cadres Surrender in Assam’s Tinsukiatwo

Tinsukia, October 25, 2019:

Two United Liberation Front of Asom- Independent (ULFA-I) cadres have surrendered in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

The two, identified as Pranjal katoki alias Pvt Rana Asom of Dibrugarh’s Tingkhong Laipui village and Bijit kanti Borah alias Pvt Luit Asom of Bordumsa’s Mehali Ritu village, laid down their arms after coming in contact with the police and security forces in Lekhapani’s Wara area.

Based on a reliable input of the movement of suspected ULFA- I cadres, a joint operation was launched by Tinsukia Police (inclusive of 210 Cobra, 68 Bn CRPF), 9 Raj Rif Army and 21 Para (SF) in Wara area under Lekhapani Police Station. After coming in contact with the forces, the duo surrendered themselves.

They also surrendered two MQ-81 (AK series assault rifles), two AK series magazines and 40 live round cartridges of AK series.
