As the activities of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) seems to be increasing, the Nagaon Police have observed that the outfit apart from Upper Assam is also attempting to recruit new cadres from Nagaon through social media and other methods.

Nagaon SP Sankarbrata Raimedhi, speaking on the issue said that over the past few days it has been seen that the ULFA-I is not just active in Upper Assam but in Middle Assam as well.

Although the ULFA-I is not “totally” active in Nagaon, social media is being used to mark their presence.

It may be mentioned that the Assam Police earlier arrested two persons in connection with the ULFA-I flag issue from Nagaon.

The arrested persons were identified as Bhaskar Borah of Poly Road and Naren Gohain of Difalu. According to the police Bhaskar Borah is a surrendered ULFA-I member whereas Naren Gohain is a former ULFA-I linkmen.
