The United Liberation Front of Assam Independent (ULFA-I) has claimed the responsibility of the five blasts that shook Assam in the early morning of Republic Day.
ULFA issued a statement claiming the responsibility of the serial blasts in the three districts of Assam.

ULFA-I, in its statement, said that the serial blasts that took place just hours ahead of the Republic Day celebrations were executed by the group.
It needs mention here that as many as five blasts were reported from several towns in Assam amid the ongoing Republic Day celebrations. Two blasts took place in Dibrugarh town of Assam at about 8 am today.

The first of the blasts took place at Graham bazar (near NH37) near a garbage dumping area. The 2nd blast occured near the boundary wall of Sikh National school at Marwari Patty, Dibrugarh. The wall of the school had been slightly damaged.

The 3rd blast took place at Duliajan (Pipaltol) near the pavement and damaged the slab. Another blast took place near Koliapani bridge at Doomdooma under Tinsukia district. A 5th blast took place near a shop at Teok ghat at Sonari under Charaideo district.
