ULFA-I deputy C-in-C's body guard arrested

Guwahati, November 20, 2018:

The Jorhat police have arrested United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) deputy commander-in-chief Drishti Rajkhowa’s bodyguard on Monday night.

Speaking to InsideNE, VN Chandrakant, SP, Jorhat said, “The Jorhat Police based on an specific input arrested a youth identified as Dewal Jyoti Dutta and on interrogation it came to light that he was an active ULFA-I cadre.”

He added that on further interrogation it came to light that Dewal alias Dewal Axom was appointed as the personal bodyguard of Drishti Rajkhowa.

According to Dewal, he came to attend his sister’s marriage which is on December 12, 2018.

The police added that Dewal has revealed that he underwent training in Assam, Meghalaya and Bangladesh. He knows multiple languages as well.

Dewal is also an expert in using assault rifles and explosives.
