TINSUKIA: United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) senior leader Jibon Asom is likely to surrender before the Assam Police in Dibrugarh today.
As per reports, the sexagenarian ULFA-I leader is currently in custody of the Indian Army in Khonsa in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Asom will be brought to Dibrugarh from Khonsa as the day develops and is likely to surrender upon his arrival.
Earlier on April 25, the ULFA-I had relieved Asom from all responsibilities of the outfit on ‘medical grounds’.
The banned outfit through a statement said that Asom, alias Jibon Moran, was relieved from the organisation after he had opted for retirement citing ‘health problems.’

Asom, was the finance secretary of the ULFA-I.
Jibon Asom, who hails from Uban village in Kakopothar in Tinsukia district of Assam is likely to return home after almost 37 years.
