GUWAHATI: The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA -Independent) on Friday has urged the members of its outfit to observe 'Swahid Diwas', on July 27 from their respective workplace and shelters in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state,
Every year, the banned outfit observes July 27 as 'Swahid Diwas' (Martyrs Day), to pay tribute to its cadres who lost their lives in the battle for a ‘Sovereign Assam’.
Rumel Asom, member of the outfit’s Publicity Wing has appealed to the citizens, leaders of the organization and other officials and members to observe a moment of silence in honour of the 'martyrs'.
The one minute silence will be observed at 8 in the morning on July, the statement reads.
