United Christian Forum of BTR extends support to UPPL party for polls

Kokrajhar: United Christian Forum of BTR has extended support to the UPPL party for the upcoming assembly elections.

"The UPPL party has assured us of uplift and development of the Christian followers and providing land allotment and formation of minority development board across the region as well in the state.

Previous BPF led BTC government never thought about the welfare and development aspects for the Christian religion followers.

The secretary of the United Christian Forum, BTR said.

He added that a crucial meeting was held amongst the representatives of the  districs of BTR recently, at Prasanti Lodge, Kokrajhar and adopted the 8 major issues to submit a memorandum to the Honorable Chief of BTR immediately.

Safety and security of Christians, Safety of Churches and Christian Institutions, Issuance of Land Pattas to all Churches and Christian Institutions, Formation of the Minority Board for Christians in BTR, Special schemes for skill development for unemployed youths, Financial aids for poor Christian Families, Operationalise ITI's constructed under Minority development Funds, seat reservations for minority students in the said institutions we discussed.

In view of the above issues, the Forum had submitted the memorandum in Bishmuri, Kokrajhar to the Chief of BTR and discussed relating the submitted issues.

"He fully assured the Forum to fulfill the same. Hence, since the previous BPF Government of the BTC did not respond and worked anything for the Christianity, the Forum had fully supported to the UPPL political party in the ensuing Assam Assembly Election/2021. Along with that, the Forum has appeal to all Christian believers irrespective of Castes and Denominations to the candidates of UPPL political party," said Ringkhang Brahma, Secretary, UCF,BTR.
