UNTIMELY AND SAD DEMISE OF ARMY OFFICER IN KOKRAJHAR

Guwahati, October 8, 2018:

In a tragic incident, an army officer, Colonel Govardhan Gopal Gudur of 12 Sikh LI regiment of the Red Horns Division met an untimely death in his camp at Patharghat in Kokrajhar district of Assam. The officer reportedly died of respiratory problem. His body has been sent for post mortem to ascertain the exact cause of the death. Colonel Gudur

was 40 at the time of his death.

Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Niran Niranjan Barua, additional superintendent of police TR Pegu besides several other army officers visited the Red Horns Division Sikh LI regiment headquarters to pay homage to the departed soul.

It may be mentioned that Colonel Gudur was an brave soldier of the Indian army and was instrumental in many counter insurgency operations.

Colonel Gudur’s body will be flown to his native village in Lukhnour where he will be cremated with full military honours.
