Upamanyu Hazarika slams BJP for pending employment of Arnamai Bora’s daughter

Guwahati, January 27, 2019:

Senior advocate Upamanyu Hazarika has slammed the BJP Government yet again and has slammed the justifications presented by the BJP government for the implementation of the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. Hazarika also knocked the government for failing to provide employment to the daughter of the rape-and-murder victim Arnamai Bora.

Hazarika said: “The swift decision in the case of conviction by the court of the accused in the Arnamai Bora case is touted as an achievement of this government, but the application for compassionate appointment of late Smt. Bora’s daughter, handed over to him personally, is pending with the education ministry since November 2017, representation given to the minister (copy enclosed). On the other hand, ABMSU, leader Lafiqul Islam, who is killed in a private feud, the government gives two jobs to the next of kin the very next day after the murder.”

He also accused the government of only succeeded in bringing in Bangladeshi immigrants and making empty promises to the people.
