The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has termed the recent Union Territorial Council (UTC) debate as a conspiracy against the Bodo issue and sentiment of the indigenous people living in the proposed Bodoland area.
ABSU president Promod Boro speaking on the issue said, "The UTC debate is nothing but an ill designed and fabricated news, there is no official statement made either from the government of India or from the movement groups (ABSU, NDFB-P and PJACBM). It is totally baseless and no authenticity. It is observed that some of the media highlighted it without any authentic source."
He added, "It is a self-made design to divert the prevailing protest in Assam against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. It is a conspiracy againt the Bodo issue and sentiments of the indigenous people living in the proposed Bodoland area. The so-called organisations who are protesting against the baseless news is a kind of laughing stock and act of coward."
He added that ABSU wants resolution of all extremist problems of Assam like NDFB and ULFA.
He added that the emotional, irresponsible and provocative activities of some non-bodo organisations will create trouble in resolving the long pending issues.
Promod added, "The union appeals all sections of people irrespective of caste, creed and community to maintain peace and tranquility and not to believe in such baseless news. We also appeal the people to come forward in favour for permanent and peacefull solution of the Bodo issue."
