Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner, Adil Khan, has directed the heads of major development departments to make best use of the working season for completion of all ongoing projects and schemes.
Reviewing the progress and status of different projects and schemes at the District Development Committee meeting on Thursday, he directed all district heads of major departments to complete the ongoing works within the working season.
“Gird up your loins and utilise the working season to complete the ongoing projects,” he said.
Khan directed the Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD (State Road) to complete all the ongoing works by October 10 before the Durga Puja festivity. The DC instructed the officials of PWD (NH) to expedite construction work of Dholeswari bypass, Katlicherra bypass, 11-km stretch from Janeki Bazar to Hailakandi, Jamira-Kachurthal road bordering Mizoram and also roads damaged by the recent deluge. The officials informed that Rs.85 lakh has been sanctioned for ordinary restoration work of damaged roads, while Rs.35 crore has been sanctioned for taking up major road construction works.
