Video shows security forces along Assam-Mizoram border living without food and shelter

GUWAHATI: A video that has recently gone viral depicts a sorry picture of security forces including the CRPF and Assam Police deployed along the Assam- Mizoram border.

The video which was reportedly taken at Khulichhora area in Cachar district along the border, shows security personnel sleeping under the open sky. They were seen sleeping over tarpaulin laid on the ground.

Their weapons were kept close while sleeping.

It has been alleged that the forces that are on constant vigil along the border post July 26 violence are not provided with enough meal.

Sources say when rain comes, the security personal take shelter in the vehicles kept beside.

It is alleged that when the local people came forward to help in terms of food, they were stopped by the higher officials present on the site. Insiders say if someone takes a photo or make a video of the situation; the officials forcibly delete it from their mobile phones.

It is reported that in many instances, police officials have stopped the media from going to the site where the security forces are staying.
