DULIAJAN: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the 2ndtwo-day conference of Superintendents of Police (SPs) at Duliajan in Assam’s Dibrugarh district today. The conference is organised to discuss various issues, law & order situations, citizen centric service or pending cases in investigation.
During the discussion, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that he wants to see an SP that could tell him that he could visit a district without security.
After assuming power by the new government, the first SP conference was held in Kaziranga on June 8 and 9 2021.
Notably, the Assam chief minister has already decided to reduce his entourage to half from Monday while travelling in Guwahati city.
The government will have SP conference every six months. The next conference will be held after six months in Dergaon Police Training Center.
Likewise, the government will hold a Deputy Commissioner's conference every six months. The 2nd Deputy Commissioners conference will be held in Tezpur in March-April, 2022.
The conference will continue till late night tonight and restart tomorrow morning before conclusion in the evening tomorrow.
