Assam icon Zubeen Garg, who has been outspoken in his opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, on Wednesday said that he will never join any political party amid speculations that a people-fronted political party will be floated in the political arena of Assam ahead of the 2021 election.

The singing star also said that he will not sing any more jingles for political parties.
Meanwhile, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) Chief Akhil Gogoi is ready to form a new political party in Assam that is “inclusive” in nature, says Assam Congress leader Kamal Kumar Medhi.
According to Medhi, the party under the leadership of Gogoi will be to block the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam.
“I met my friend Akhil Gogoi in the jail today. I had a long conversation with him. While talking to him, I felt that he wants to form a new political party. He is mentally ready to form an inclusive regional political party,” said Medhi.
