Wine shops in many parts of the city to remain closed on Oct 27

Guwahati: A notification informed that IMFL retailers, country spirit shops and all bars in some areas in the city will remain closed on October 27.

As per the government notification on Monday, in view of public peace preservation during the immersion of ‘Maa Durga idol’,

IMFL retailers, country spirit shops and all bars in some areas in the city will remain closed on Tuesday.

The areas include A.T road from Adabari covering Maligaon-Pandu area (from Bharalumukh police station point to Jalukbari covering Gotanagr area).

These areas in the city will be affected under section 52(1) of Assam Excise Act, 2000 as directed by the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro.

The notification also added that violators will be punished.
