Mafida Khatoon from Chapar village suddenly experienced labor pain while on a visit to the NRC Seva Kendra (NSK) for a hearing on Thursday. A local, Rabiul Islam noticed Khatoon and informed the local women of the region. The locals then helped her give birth to a baby boy.
Following this, the South Salmara unit of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) appealed the NSK officials to re-schedule the hearing date for Khatoon’s family. The AASU unit also said that the pregnant women, old age people, and children should be exempted from the hearings.
