Won't Join BJP Even if Offered the Post of Chief Minister: Congress MLA Rupjyopti Kurmi

Guwahati, October 10, 2019:

Swearing his loyalty to the Congress, Kurmi said that he is a Congress MLA, and he was birthed in the Congress womb. "I am living as a member of the Congress, and I will die as a member of the Congress.."

Admitting that the Congress is in trouble, he said that the people who leave the mother in times of strife, are called traitors, he said. "The people who have deserted the Congress thinking that they will never return to power, are in for a surprise."

Kurmi said that the suffering of the Congress is like the suffering of a mother. "Right now, my mother, the Congress, is suffering. She is sick, she is wounded, she is hospitalized. I cannot desert the Congress during such a predicament", Krumi said.

"There is light at the end of this tunnel, and I believe that the Congress will return to power soon", Kurmi hoped. Quashing the reports of him joining the ruling BJP, he said that won't join the BJP even if he is offered the post of Chief Minister.
