Guwahati, October 22, 2018:

Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government will not let the Bengali organisations to hold the conclave on November 17 under any conditions.
Speaking to the media, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The government will not any meetings to be held on November 17 as there are chances of the law and order being disturbed in the state. The government also appeals the people not to support the bandh as the High Court had earlier declared Assam Bandhs as illegal."
However, BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev speaking about the mass meeting said that the conclave will be held as per schedule but the place is yet to be decided.
Dev claimed that if the meeting is held then there will be no issues of law and order in the state as the meeting will be a friendly one and they want to hold the meeting with all the communities, tribes and people of Assam.
