Wood log smuggling around Divisional Forest Office, West Kamrup

Guwahati, December 27, 2018:

The locals of Bamunigaon has alleged of illegal wood log smuggling that is operated in areas nearly one kilometre away from the Divisional Forest Office, West Kamrup. The smugglers use handcarts and mini trucks to transfer wood logs and timbers.

The villagers said that this smuggling activities are been carried out in support of the forest department.

On alering about the fact, DFO Ranjan Goswami said, "Thanks for the information. I will take care. Range officer Bamunigaon has been asked to keep vigil and to enquire."
