World Amateur Boxing champion MC Mary Kom visited the Kaziranga National Park on Sunday along with her family. The pugilist appreciated the conservation efforts of officials and staff at Kaziranga National Park during her family visit.
While addressing the media, Mary Kom said:“I have started preparing for 2020 Olympics. An Olympic Gold is what I am still dreaming of”.
Mary Kom, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Manipur, declined to comment on the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and stated that she is not a political person.
It may be mentioned that the boxing great, who has risen to the top of the AIBA rankings on Thursday, has been riding high after winning the gold medal in the World Championships held in New Delhi. She has been further honoured with the title of “Meethoi Leima” (great or exceptional lady) by the Manipur government and graces the cover of the latest issue of ‘Femina’ magazine.
