Youth Congress leader attacked over poll related violence in Chaygaon

Guwahati, November 15, 2018:

Dissatisfied over ticket distribution for panchayat elections, a general secretary of the Youth Congress was allegedly attacked by several Congress workers on Wednesday night in Chaygaon, Kamrup.

As per reports, AGS Abdur Rejak was attack by several party workers after their preferred candidates were not given tickets for contesting the panchayat elections. He was severely injured during the attack.

The workers alleged that Abdur of depriving deserving candidates and have a “secret understanding” with the candidates that were given tickets for the upcoming elections.

It may be mentioned that there were several incidents where offices belonging to the Congress as well as the BJP were vandalised due to poll related violence.
