GUWAHATI: Popular singer Zubeen Garg received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at a private hospital here on Wednesday.
After receiving the vaccine, Zubeen appealed to the people to take all precautionary measures to keep the virus at bay.
The heartthrob also urged the people to wear mask apart from following all COVID-19 protocols.
“I have taken the COVID-19 vaccine today. You too take it. Stay safe. Wear masks. Practice all COVID-19 protocols. Keep yourself as safe as possible from COVID-19,” Zubeen said in a video that has gone viral.

Assam recorded 385 fresh cases of COVID-19 and three more casualties due to the infection over the past 24 hours.
The deaths were reported from Kamrup (Metro), Hojai and Dibrugarh districts. Kamrup (M) continued to top the chart with 201 cases followed by Kamrup with 33, Cachar (22) and Dibrugarh (19 cases).
Meanwhile, India’s special four-day vaccination programme (Tika Utsav) ended on Wednesday.
Assam has administered 15,48,601 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines so far. Of this, 12,74,347 people received the first dose of the vaccine while 2,74,254 received the second dose.

It needs to mention here that, India, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of vaccines, is facing a COVID-19 vaccine shortage, partly due to a rapid rise in cases linked to a new variant.
However, the central government has maintained that it was not a real shortage but just a matter of “planning”.
