"17 years wasted under Hagrama Mohilary’s rule": BTR Chief Pramod Boro

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Pramod Boro on April 7 targeted former BTR Chief Hagrama Mohilary, accusing him of prioritizing personal gain over public service during his 17-year tenure.

Speaking at a joining programme organized by the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) in Panbari, under the Manas-Serfang Council Constituency of Bijni, Pramod Boro alleged that Hagrama Mohilary contributed little to the development of the BTR and was solely focused on amassing wealth and power.

"He is a confused leader whose only interests are money and authority," Boro remarked. "In nearly two decades of rule, he failed to deliver meaningful progress for the region."

Earlier, while speaking to the media, Pramod Boro reflected on decades of neglect faced by the region and stressed his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and effective governance.

"The Bodoland region was ignored by the system for many years. The centrally sponsored schemes were not properly implemented in the area. The state government also did not work for the development of the region for the last many decades," Boro stated.

He asserted that the current BTC administration has prioritized reversing this long-standing marginalization. "The priority of our government is to ensure the development of the region. In the last four years, our government has worked to make governance very effective," he added.
