Three individuals from Kokrajhar district of Assam have been confirmed among the casualties in the train accident involving the Kanchanjungha Express near New Jalpaiguri on June 17.
The individuals have been identified as Bipin Chandra Ray (47), Dipak K Rabha (36), and Amrish Singh (35) who were passengers on the ill-fated train.
The accident occurred when the Kanchanjungha Express collided with a goods train near New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, leading to significant disruptions in railway services. The incident has prompted extensive rescue operations, which are currently underway.
While the whereabouts and condition of the three individuals from Assam remain unknown, authorities are working diligently to locate all missing passengers and provide assistance to those affected.
