30 cattle seized from truck in Assam’s Kaliabor, three detained

Jakhalabandha Police, in a joint operation with Bagori Police, seized a truck carrying 30 cattle allegedly being transported illegally along the national highway in Assam’s Kaliabor area, police said.
 

Acting on a tip-off, personnel from Jakhalabandha and Bagori Police conducted a search operation along the highway and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number AS 01 FC 7761.
 

The vehicle was reportedly travelling from Sivasagar towards Meghalaya when it was intercepted by the police.
 

A total of 30 cattle were recovered from the truck, which police alleged were being transported illegally.
 

Three people allegedly involved in the transportation were detained. They have been identified as Hari Bahadur of Sadiya, Shahid Ali of Samatapathar in Sonapur and Habibul Islam.
 

Police have initiated an investigation into the alleged illegal transportation and said operations against cattle smuggling would continue in the area.
