70-year-old helpless man rescued in Assam's Tinsukia, to be shifted to old-age home

A 70-year-old man was rescued in a helpless condition from the Na-Khorai area of Assam’s Tinsukia district, following which local residents arranged for his medical treatment and plans to shift him to an old-age home.

The man, identified as Hardiyal Turi, had reportedly been ill for a long time and was allegedly not receiving care from his family. Local residents had found him staying in different places in the area in a helpless condition.

After learning about his condition, a group of concerned residents came forward to help him. They rescued Turi and took him to Tinsukia Civil Hospital, where he received initial medical treatment.

The rescuers said Turi would undergo the necessary health examinations after his initial treatment. Following the medical assessment, arrangements would be made to admit him to an old-age home at Na-Pukhuri.

The initiative by the local residents has been appreciated by people in the area.
