In an effort to promote digital learning among students, a tablet distribution ceremony was organized at Kokrajhar Girls' Higher Secondary School under the ‘Arohan’ scheme. A total of 95 meritorious 10th-grade students from Kokrajhar district received tablets from Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro.
The event, organized by the BTC Education Department, was attended by BTC Executive Member Wilson Hasda and Education Director Jagdish Prasad Brahma.
The ‘Arohan’ scheme, introduced by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in 2022, has been a major educational reform initiative, aiming to equip talented students with modern learning tools. Speaking at the event, Pramod Boro thanked CM Dr. Sarma for launching this progressive initiative and expressed confidence that it would significantly benefit students in their academic journey.
In a separate statement, Pramod Boro addressed the results of ‘Gunotsav’, a statewide education assessment initiative. He highlighted that the BTC region secured an 'A' grade, although there was a noticeable increase in the number of ‘B’ grade schools. While acknowledging the progress in educational standards over the past two years, he also directed the Education Director to investigate the factors behind lower performance in certain areas.
Regarding the upcoming BTC elections, Boro mentioned that the United Peoples' Party Liberal (UPPL) is actively preparing for the polls, with election management committees in 40 constituencies and an executive team operating across 3,200 booths. However, he stated that it was too early to determine whether UPPL would contest independently or form a coalition.
