AGP backs delimitation, women’s reservation: Atul Bora
Atul Bora on April 15 expressed strong support for delimitation, stating that it would benefit the state given the rise in population over the years.
Speaking on the issue, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president said that while population has increased significantly, the number of constituencies has remained unchanged. “It will only be good for us. We express our full support for it. We have been saying for a long time that the population has increased, but the constituencies have not,” Bora said.
On the issue of women’s reservation, Bora подчеркed the importance of ensuring greater political representation for women. He said reservation for women is necessary and highlighted that the government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma has already introduced several schemes aimed at empowering women in the state.
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions on electoral reforms and gender representation in governance.
