AJP’s Hojai office-bearers join AGP ahead of Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll

Several office-bearers and workers of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) joined the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) ahead of the by-election to the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency.

The joining programme was held at the AGP office in Nagaon in the presence of AGP president Atul Bora and working president Keshab Mahanta.

The new entrants included office-bearers and workers of the AJP’s Hojai district committee.

The development comes ahead of the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, with political parties stepping up organisational activities and campaigning in the constituency.

AGP workers claimed that AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal would face a setback in the by-election and said BJP candidate Debashish Sharma, who is contesting as part of the ruling alliance, would secure a major victory.

The ruling alliance has intensified its campaign in the constituency ahead of the bypoll, while opposition parties are also mobilising their workers.
