Akhil Gogoi seeks transparent flood relief, long-term measures to tackle Assam floods

Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi on July 31 addressed a press conference in Sivasagar, highlighting the prevailing flood situation in the district and raising concerns over relief and rehabilitation measures for affected residents.

Speaking to the media, Gogoi discussed the impact of the recent floods, the hardships faced by flood-hit families, ongoing rescue and relief operations, and the government's response to the disaster.

The legislator called for the immediate and transparent distribution of relief materials to flood-affected people and demanded adequate compensation for families that have suffered losses due to the floods.

He also urged the district administration and the state government to intensify relief and rehabilitation efforts to ensure timely assistance reaches every affected household.

Emphasising the need for a lasting solution to Assam's recurring flood crisis, Gogoi stressed that the government must adopt effective long-term measures to minimise the impact of floods and protect vulnerable communities in the future.
