All Tai Ahom Students Union demands eviction of encroachers from historic Jamuna in Assam's Sivasagar

The All Tai Ahom Students Union has raised concerns over alleged encroachment on the historic Jamuna site in Assam’s Sivasagar district, demanding urgent measures to protect its existence and free the area from encroachment.

The organisation has called on the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to preserve the historic site and ensure that it is protected from further encroachment.

The students’ body has also demanded strict action against contractors who allegedly failed to complete their assigned work. It has called for contractors found guilty of negligence or failing to fulfil their responsibilities to be blacklisted.

The organisation has urged the authorities to take prompt action, stressing the need to protect Sivasagar’s historical heritage and ensure transparency and accountability in development projects.

The demands have brought renewed attention to the conservation of historic sites and the timely completion of public works in the district.
