Allegations against doctor over duty at Assam's Nagaon civil hospital

Serious allegations have been levelled against Dr Chandan Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Naltali Hospital in Assam's Kaliabor, over his alleged absence from his designated place of posting and his presence at Nagaon Bhogeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital.

According to the allegations, Sharma has been performing duties at the Nagaon civil hospital instead of his designated workplace at Naltali Hospital.

It has also been alleged that Sharma has been working at the Nagaon hospital for around two years, despite his name reportedly not appearing on the hospital's duty roster.

Further allegations have been made regarding his conduct while on night duty. He has allegedly behaved abusively with patients and healthcare workers after consuming alcohol. There are also allegations that he attempted to assault a healthcare worker at the hospital.

The allegations further claim that Sharma was allegedly performing duties at the Nagaon hospital after receiving money from other doctors.

The claims have raised questions over the doctor's posting and duty arrangements between Naltali Hospital and Nagaon Bhogeswari Phukanani Civil Hospital.
