A major mishap was narrowly averted on Tuesday after an Indian Army helicopter made an emergency landing at the playground of the Dibruporia Sports Association in Kathalguri, Bordumsa, situated along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
According to defence sources, the helicopter had taken off from the Dinjan Army camp in Assam and was heading towards Anini in Arunachal Pradesh when it developed a technical glitch mid-air. Reacting swiftly, the pilot diverted the aircraft and successfully landed it at the Kathalguri playground, ensuring the safety of all onboard.
he helicopter was carrying four personnel, including two pilots and two senior Indian Army officers. No casualties or injuries were reported.
Witnesses said local residents rushed to the site soon after the aircraft landed, with crowds gathering around the playground to catch a glimpse of the Army helicopter.
Authorities confirmed that the situation is under control and the helicopter will undergo necessary technical inspection before resuming operations.
