‘Arrest accused, ensure strictest punishment’: AIUDF MLA Rafiqul Islam on Manipur musician’s murder in Delhi

AIUDF MLA and General Secretary Rafiqul Islam on Tuesday, September 8, condemned the murder of 54-year-old musician C. Vikram Singh from Manipur in Delhi and urged the Centre to take the incident seriously.

Reacting to the killing, Islam said incidents involving people from the Northeast have occurred in different parts of the country and expressed concern over the recurrence of such cases.

“Such incidents involving people from the Northeast occur in various parts of the country. It is unfortunate. There have been many such incidents in the past as well,” Islam said.

He condemned the killing and called upon the Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs to intervene in the matter.

“The Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs should take this seriously, arrest the accused, and ensure they receive the strictest possible punishment,” he said.

Vikram Singh, a 54-year-old musician from Manipur, was killed in Delhi, with the incident triggering concern among people from the Northeast.
