Artificial flooding in Batadrava: Nagaon admin deploys super sucker machine for dewatering
The Nagaon district administration swung into action after reports of artificial flooding in Batadrava, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, with a super sucker machine deployed to drain water from the affected areas.
Following reports of waterlogging in the historic Batadrava area, the administration arranged for dewatering operations during the night to provide immediate relief to residents.
The Nagaon District Commissioner also visited Batadrava, inspected the waterlogged areas and took stock of the situation.
The District Commissioner assured residents that the administration would soon hold discussions with officials and staff of the concerned departments and formulate an action plan for a permanent solution to the waterlogging problem in the heritage site.
As part of the immediate response, a super sucker machine was deployed to pump out water from the affected areas.
Residents of Batadrava have appreciated the prompt response of the district administration and its efforts to address the waterlogging situation.
The administration is expected to undertake further measures in coordination with the concerned departments to prevent the recurrence of such waterlogging in the area.
