Asom Sahitya Sabha's 77th biennial session gears up for grand celebration

Preparations are in full swing for the seventy-seventh biennial session of the Asom Sahitya Sabha, set to take place at the Bhattadeva ground in Pathshala. Under the leadership of reception committee president Ranjit Kumar Das, the event promises to be a grand celebration of Assamese language, literature, and culture.

Preparations are in full swing for the session at Bhattadeva Ground in Pathshala, scheduled to take place from January 31 to February 4.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to arrive in the afternoon (January 28) to grace the occasion. This year’s session boasts a vibrant lineup of events, including a science fair, Bajali Haat, Kavi Sammelan, and depictions of tribal villages, marking a significant departure from previous trade fairs.

Efforts are underway day and night to ensure the success of the event. The Adarni Samiti has decorated every aspect of the venue with meticulous attention to detail, while roads leading to the Bhattadeva area have been beautifully constructed to facilitate smooth access for visitors.

The session has already generated excitement among locals and participants, with cultural, literary, and scientific showcases set to highlight Assam's rich heritage.
