Assam: 12-foot-long python climbs parked bike in Bongaigaon, later released into the wild

In an unusual incident in the Bongaigaon district of Assam, a nearly 12-foot-long python was found coiled on a parked motorcycle in front of the Naira oil depot in Kasarpara area of Assam's Bongaigaon district. 

The python, which had wandered down from the nearby forest, sparked a mix of curiosity and concern among the local residents.

The python's unexpected appearance on the bike quickly gathered a crowd. Despite the initial shock, the community members sprang into action, demonstrating remarkable bravery and resourcefulness. 

Through their concerted efforts, they managed to carefully remove the python from the motorcycle, ensuring both their safety and that of the snake.

Once rescued from the vehicle, the python was handed over to the forest department. 

Officials praised the residents for their prompt and humane response, highlighting the importance of community awareness and cooperation in such wildlife encounters.

The incident underscores the frequent and often startling interactions between humans and wildlife in regions where forested areas intersect with populated zones. As urban expansion continues, similar encounters are becoming increasingly common, calling for greater preparedness and understanding in handling such situations.
