Assam: 1545 dancers synchronise to the beats and rhythm of Bihu in Guwahati

A total of 1545 dancers participated in the Closing Ceremony of the Workshop on Bihu Naam, Nach and Dhol on March 24. 

The participants were of varied ages starting from 4 years old to adults who danced with the tunes and rhythm of Bihu. They created a magnificent view with perfect synchronisation among the Bihu dancers and dhuliyas. 

The performance roused the delight and gaiety among viewers and they were left in complete awe. 

The event was organised by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India at Shilpgram Complex in Guwahati. 

The Closing Ceremony of the workshop was graced by the Governor of Nagaland La. Ganesan. The program was also attended by the Sangeet Ratna Dulal Roy, renowned actress Chetana Das and IAS Retired Swapnanil Barua. 

A huge number of people from Guwahati and in and around the city took part in the workshop from March 17 to 23. 

Along with the participants, 10 exponents and another 10 co-instructors under the directions of Prashanna Gogoi, Director, NEZCC and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee also participated in the programme.
