As part of the Chief Minister’s Special Scheme, a cycle distribution programme was held on Monday, December 15 at Ledo Sankardev Vidyapith Higher English School, under the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly Constituency in Tinsukia district.

A total of 240 bicycles were distributed among Class IX students during the programme, aimed at easing their daily commute to and from school and encouraging regular attendance. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local representatives.

The bicycles were formally handed over in the presence of Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma, who highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening access to education, particularly for students from remote and semi-urban areas. Addressing the gathering, the MLA stated that the cycle distribution initiative would be extended to students of all higher secondary schools across the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly Constituency.

The initiative, officials noted, is designed to provide safe and convenient transportation for students, thereby reducing dropouts and supporting continuity in education.

Teachers and staff of Ledo Sankardev Vidyapith Higher English School lauded the government’s effort, describing it as a timely and impactful measure that would significantly benefit students.

Distinguished guests present at the programme included Ranajyoti Neog, President of the Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association, and Dheeraj Sonowal, Treasurer of the Margherita District BJP, along with members of the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff.
