Assam Police arrested three individuals in connection with a gang rape case that occurred on the night of January 25. The accused have been identified as Lakshyadhar Tumung, Harkanta Kaman, and Gopal Subba.
The incident involved a young woman from North Guwahati, who had visited Sonapur with a friend when she was subjected to the assault.
Following the crime, the survivor filed a formal complaint at Changsari Police Station, prompting the authorities to launch an investigation. Based on the complaint, police successfully apprehended the three accused from Sonapur.
The case has been registered under FIR No. 18/25 BNS 123/127(2)/70(1) at Sonapur Police Station, and an in-depth investigation is currently underway.
In connection with the case, the police have also seized a Tata Harrier vehicle with registration number AS01 FV 0972.
Authorities have assured that further details will come to light as the investigation progresses.
