Assam: 4 persons claiming to be journalists, cause uproar at bike showroom in Sribhumi, detained

Four individuals claiming to be journalists caused a major uproar at the "ROYAL ATS HERO" bike showroom in Sribhumi, Assam on January 11. The incident escalated after the group attempted to record a video of a female employee, leading to tension and intervention by local authorities.

The suspects, identified as Mohammed Abbas, Mohammed Yaiya, Gafur Khan, and Dipankar Dev, reportedly entered the showroom under the pretense of discussing a government-issued scooter. Their initial interaction with staff turned into a heated verbal exchange. The situation intensified when the individuals entered the showroom owner's office and began filming without consent.

When questioned about their actions, the group claimed to be journalists but failed to present any valid credentials to substantiate their identity. This raised suspicions among showroom staff and local residents, who detained the individuals and alerted the police.

Police arrived soon after and escorted the suspects to the police station. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind the incident and verify the authenticity of the suspects' claims.

Authorities have assured a thorough investigation to bring clarity to the matter, emphasizing the need to uphold public trust and ensure accountability in such situations.
