Assam: 4000 students pay musical tribute to Zubeen Garg in Boko on music icon's first death anniversary

Around 4,000 students gathered at Jawaharlal Nehru College in Assam's Boko to pay tribute to music icon and heartthrob Zubeen Garg through a mass rendition of his popular song "Xopun Rongor Jibon Tumi".

The programme was organised on the college premises by the South West Kamrup Students' Union and Jawaharlal Nehru College, with the participation and cooperation of various organisations and institutions.

Students came together to sing the song as a tribute to Garg and to acknowledge his contribution to Assamese music and culture. The mass rendition brought together thousands of participants on the college campus.

South West Kamrup Students' Union president Rinku Rabha said the initiative was organised to express the people's respect for Garg and pay homage to the artiste through one of his own musical creations.

The programme saw participation from students from the area, with the collective rendition of Xopun Rongor Jibon Tumi serving as the central feature of the tribute.

Garg, one of Assam's most prominent singers and musicians, had a career spanning multiple genres and languages and remained closely associated with Assamese music and culture.
