A devastating road accident claimed the lives of five individuals and left another seriously injured on National Highway 27 near the Mahamaya Temple in Kachugaon, Gossaigaon. The incident occurred when a truck, after crossing the temple, veered out of control and crashed.
Gossaigaon Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Hiren Kumar Deka, and local Kachugaon Police responded to the scene. Initial reports indicate that the same truck was involved in a second fatal collision at Bishmuri in Kokrajhar, where it struck a car, resulting in the deaths of two more individuals.

The victims have been identified as Sukran Roy, 20; Jai Roy, 11; Bappi Ghosh, 21; Basudev Roy, 22; and Naba Ghosh, 26, all residents of Hatigarh Village No. 1, Gossaigaon. The injured, 22-year-old Binan Roy, was rushed to Kachugaon Primary Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the dual collisions as the community mourns this tragic loss.
